In recognition of the widely spread attention surrounding Juneteenth, a holiday commemorating the abolishment of chattel slavery in the United States of America. The Emancipation Proclaimation of 1865 called for ALL slaves to be freed, yet the last known plantation wasn't dismantled until 1963! Since the billl was signed, black people in the country have had to endure many atrocities like Jim Crow, Sundown Towns, and Red Lining, etc. That's what inspired the concept that we are "ALMOST FREE!" Free from physical slavery (unless prisoner of the state or federal government, according to the 13th amendment), but still oppressed by chains placed on our communities, and our minds!
